What is Tetris?
Tetris is a tile-matching puzzle game that has been around for over three decades. Tetriminoes (blocks made up of four squares) must be rotated and placed into horizontal lines with no gaps in order to win the game. When a line is completed, it disappears, and any blocks above it fall down. The goal is to keep the playing field as clear as possible for as long as possible.
It is available for nearly every video game console and computer system, including the Game Boy, the Nintendo DS, the PlayStation Portable, and the iOS. It has also been used in educational environments, especially as a reinforcement tool.
Tetris is one of the most popular video games of all time, and has been enjoyed by players of all ages. It is simple to learn but difficult to master, and can provide hours of fun and relaxation. If you’ve never played Tetris before, give it a try!
Who Invented Tetris?
In 1984, a Russian programmer named Alexey Pajitnov created Tetris while working at the Academy of Sciences. Pajitnov was inspired by a puzzle game called Pentamino, in which players would arrange falling Tetrominoes into complete rows. Pajitnov originally created Tetris on an Electronika 60 computer. The game was later ported to the IBM PC and became a hit on the MS-DOS platform. In 1987, Tetris was licensed to Nintendo and bundled with the Game Boy handheld console. Tetris became one of the most popular video games of all time and has been ported to nearly every gaming platform.
