Pokémon GO Astral Eclipse event: Featuring legendary Pokémon of the Sun and Moon

Pokémon GO Astral Eclipse event – The legendary Pokémon of the Sun and Moon will soon make its long-awaited debut in Pokémon GO. Earlier today, the Pokemon GO team revealed the details for the upcoming Pokémon GO Astral Eclipse event, which will feature the Alolan Legendary Pokemon Solgaleo and Lunala. There will also be a global event next week focused on Ultra Beasts with increased spawn rates for their raids.

First of all the Pokemon Go Astral Eclipse Event starts in a few days on November 23 at 10 a.m. local time until November 28 at 8 p.m. local time.

To get Solgaleo or Lunala during this event, you need to evolve Cosmoem with 100 Cosmog Candy. Evolving during the day leads to a Solgaleo and evolving at night to a Lunala. The most likely method of obtaining the necessary candy will be the continuation of the currently active A Cosmic Companion Special Research.

Choose wisely when developing, as each trainer has only been able to obtain a single Cosmog so far. That may change in the future, but Niantic hasn’t specified what plans players have to get both Lunala and Solgaleo off the shelf.

When it comes to raids, the Pokémon GO Astral Eclipse event will feature Drifloon, Frillish (male and female), Inkay, and Rockruff in one-star raids. Only Frillish doesn’t have a Shiny form of these Pokemon. Three-star raids will feature Druddigon and Hisuian Braviary with Shinies and Tentacruel available. Nihilego and Mega Houndoom round out the map for five-star and mega raids. Only the latter has a glossy version available.

It’s also worth noting that there will be a Solgaleo Mask and Lunala Wings as avatar items in the shop.

During the Astral Eclipse event, keep an eye out for event-exclusive field research tasks outside for a Staryu encounter with a chance to shine. Also, make sure you have everything in sight to complete the gathering challenges. So far, Niantic has not revealed what the collection challenges will look like.

Last but not least, on November 27th, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm local time, there will be a big Ultra Beast-themed day in the middle of the Astral Eclipse event. Every Ultra Beast currently included in Pokemon GO will be available in Raids around the world.

Nihilego and Guzzlord are the two constants across the Americas (Buzzswole), Asia Pacific (Xurkitree) and Europe (Pheromosa). Additionally, Kartana will appear in the Northern Hemisphere, while Celesteela will be in the Southern Hemisphere.

The good news is that this event is titled Arrival of Ultra Beast: Global will feature timed research that includes encounters with all Ultra Beasts currently in Pokemon GO. This means players around the world can each get at least one more copy of Nihilego, Buzzswole, Pheromosa, Xurkitree, Guzzlord, Celesteela, and Kartana.

In the run-up to the event, trainer recommendations will be given at the milestones of 50,000 and 100,000. At 50,000 trainers, everyone gets a free Bait Module, and at 100,000 trainers, Beast Balls can be used when catching Ultra Beasts during the November 27th event.

In addition, there are three bonuses that will be active during the Ultra Beast Arrival: Global event. Raid XP will be increased by 1.25x against Ultra Beasts, Rare Candy XL will be more likely to drop from personal raids, and Trainers can get five free Raid Passes up to two hours after the event.

Last but not least, there will be special spawns for players who raid in person. After defeating an Ultra Beast, Machoke, Scyther, Magmar, Gulpin, Absol, Minccino, Frillish, and Dedenne have their spawn rates increased for a short time in the host gym.
