Cinderella Girls composer Hidekazu Tanaka charged with attempted violent indecency

Idolmaster Cinderella Girls composer Hidekazu Tanaka was charged with attempted violent indecency on October 24 following a police investigation.

Hidekazu Tanaka, the 35-year-old composer best known for his anime and gaming-related works, was arrested on October 24 and charged with attempted violent indecency. That NHK and Anime News Network reported that the police arrested Tanaka on Monday.

Authorities charged him with attempted violent indecency, a Japanese legal term that includes sexual assault. According to NHK, Hidekazu Tanaka allegedly tugged at the hand of a teenager while he was shouting obscenities at her in a bicycle parking lot near a train station in Tokyo’s Meguro ward in August.

The girl reported the incident to the nearby police station, and the Metropolitan Police Department launched an investigation against Hidekazu Tanaka. During the investigation, police found footage from the station’s surveillance camera showing Tanaka following the girl.

Hidekazu Tanaka has enjoyed a glittering career as a composer, much of which has been spent at MONACA. While working for the music production company, he worked as a composer for anime, among other things Aikatsu!, The Idolmaster Movie: The Idolmaster!, The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls, is it wrong to try to pick up girls in a dungeon? He also composed the opening song for Uzaki-chan wants to hang out!’s Season 2, in addition to the ending theme “Calendar Girl”.

Tanaka’s last post on social media was on October 22, in which he posted four photos from Yokohama Bay Hall Club accompanied by three praying hand emojis. Recent replies to his tweet include one reminding him to like teenage girls he likes under his profile and another mockingly captioning the images “Last Supper.” A Twitter user called him directly and replied, “Why do you want to have sex with underage girls?” The Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating the details of the situation.
